Thank you for choosing to be part of our community at Exogenix. Exogenix is a service which allows users to get a genetic ancestral analysis by uploading their raw DNA data file (the “Service”). The Service is owned and operated by Exogenix (hereafter “Exogenix”, ‘we’, ‘our’ or ‘us’). ‘You’ or ‘your’ means an adult user, over the age of 13, of the Service and/or an adult user over the age of 18 of the Service.
Much of the personal information on our Website is uploaded by users for their own personal and private purposes. We recognize the sensitivity and confidentiality of information that may be disclosed by users in registering, making purchases from our Website, and receiving a genetic analysis. Thus, we are committed to protecting your privacy.

Exogenix offers raw DNA data analysis. In order to do this, we collect a small amount of personal information from our customers. This information includes your name and digital genetic information file. We process your digitized genetic data and present you with results. These results are visible on your personal dashboard. All provisions herein apply to the digitized genetic upload you present to us and the results which you view on our website.
Information Collection and Use
The only information collected from you is information which is necessary to provide you with the Service. Payment details are processed by PayPal, a third party platform. Thus, we do NOT have access to your credit card information.
The following is a list of the information requested:
- i) Name, Contact Information:
When you purchase the Service, we request your name and email address. Optional provided information includes your country of origin and any details about your ethnicity which we use for statistical purposes when refining the programs we use to produce estimates. Please note that users under age 18 are forbidden from using our website.
- ii) Digital DNA samples, Digital Ethnicity Estimate Results:
Through your submission of digital DNA files to us, you grant us a royalty-free, world-wide license to use your DNA file to the minimum extent needed to allow us to provide the Service to you. This involves us processing the DNA file using our programs and fully deleting the data within 10 days after the results are given. The license you grant to us is revocable as you are able at any time to delete your account from your website, thus deleting the results of your genetic ancestral analysis.
When you provide the above information to us, you specifically consent to the transfer and processing of such information in our data center. DNA data files are deleted after the results are generated. We enact all possible security measures to ensure the privacy protection of the personal information provided by you. Precautions in place ensure prevention against the loss, misuse, unauthorized access, alteration or disclosure of users’ personal information under our control, however you acknowledge that you provide your information at your own risk. For example, our security and privacy practices are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary and only authorized personnel have access to personal information. While we cannot guarantee that loss, misuse, unauthorized access, alteration or disclosure of personal information will not occur; we use all reasonable efforts to prevent this.
iii) Your Use of the Website:
While you use our Website, we may collect information based on your interaction with our Website or from the devices or computers you use to access the Website, including web log information, page views and IP addresses, all on an anonymized basis through Google Analytics.
Use of Data
- i) To provide the Service:
Any information you enter is used to provide you the Service. Digital DNA files you upload are deleted after determination of your results. We do not email users aside from when we notify users their results are ready, or to communicate with users regarding questions they may ask. We do not advertise or otherwise use any of your personal contact data.
We also use your personal information solely to analyze your digital DNA samples and provide you with your results.
By providing us with information, you acknowledge the transfer and processing of personal information to and within the United States. Exogenix will take appropriate steps to ensure that transfers of personal information are done in accordance with applicable law and carefully managed to protect your privacy rights and interests.
- ii) To communicate with you:
We only communicate with users to inform them when results are ready and when users have any questions. We do NOT send promotional emails.
iii) For internal business purposes:
In order to improve the Website and the Service or to develop new products and services, we may use information for internal data analysis such as trends in website usage.
LEGAL GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING OF DATA
Under EU data protection law, all processing of personal information is justified by a “condition” for processing. In the majority of cases, any processing will be justified on the basis that:
you have consented to the processing;
the processing is necessary to perform a contract with you (e.g. creating your user account)
the processing is necessary for us to comply with a relevant legal obligation; or
the processing is in our legitimate commercial interests, subject to your interests and fundamental rights (e.g. analysis which we carry our through you ordering our product)
Processing of “special category data” is only permitted where a relevant exemption exists. The special category data includes genetic information. This is processed through your usage of the Service and is processed on the basis of your consent.
Where the basis of processing is your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent, and therefore prevent that processing, at any time.
Sharing of Information
In no case is the personal information provided by our users sold, licensed or otherwise shared by us with advertisers, sponsors, partners or other third parties (aside from Google Analytics). We will never sell or license your digital DNA information, genetic ancestral analysis results, or any personal information to any third parties under any circumstances unless required by law or legal process.
We do not employ any third party companies or individuals to facilitate our Service. However, in the future, we may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service (“Service Providers”), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. This would only be done in the event that we do not have the capability ourselves to perform certain necessary services.
These third parties have access to your limited Personal Data (first name, email address) only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. Payment is handled by the third party payment platform PayPal, so we do not have access to any of your credit card data.
Exogenix may disclose your Personal Data to law enforcement or appropriate authorities in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:
- To comply with a legal obligation
- To protect and defend the rights or property of Exogenix
- To prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service
- To protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public
- To protect against legal liability
Modification or Deletion of Information
Any member may modify his/her personal information, including password, by logging into the Website and using it to update their personal information. At any time you may delete information that you have posted on the website or delete your account altogether to clear your information from our server.
Usage of Cookies and Information Which Does Not Contain Personal Data
We make use of browser cookies and similar automated means of data collection technologies to enhance your experience of visiting the website, for example, to avoid displaying certain messages to you more than once, to save your log in details so you won’t need to re-enter them each time you wish to log in or to remember the display language you previously selected so you won’t need to select it each time you visit the website. You can disable or delete cookies from your computer if you wish, but certain parts of our service may not work correctly or at all if you do so. When you visit our Website, we may automatically collect non-personal information about you, such as the website from which you have come to our Website, your computer type, screen resolution, Operating System version, mobile device details (if applicable) and Internet browser. Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”).
